Every single morning, I start my day off with the same exact shake. I’ve tried other flavors and I’ve tried to switch it up, but I keep coming back to the same thing over and over. Mainly because it is delicious, but also because it gets me some of the nutrients that I need and wouldn’t get otherwise with my picky self.
This recipe is super easy and I can make my shake and head out to work in under five minutes.
You only need a few ingredients. The most important is choosing a protein powder that you like. I struggled for a long time and finally fell in love with the Beachbody Shakeology shakes (which are more than just a protein powder). Weirdly enough, I don’t love the plain chocolate, so I drink the Chocolate Vegan shake. Once you pick your poison, stock up on a couple of other easy to find items and keep them on hand to make a shake any time!
I use Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, but you can also switch up your base if you’d like – choose from low-fat milk, almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, rice milk, coconut water. If you’re on Portion Fix with Beachbody, make sure your milk selection is unsweetened!
Ingredients:
- 8 OZ. ALMOND MILK
- 1/2 FROZEN BANANA
- 1 CUP SPINACH
- 1 TSP PB2 OR PEANUT BUTTER [I use PB2 because the powder is easier to use]
- 1 SCOOP CHOCOLATE PROTEIN POWDER OR SHAKEOLOGY
- 8-12 ICE CUBES
- WATER
Blend it all up and take it on the go or pour it into your favorite glass to enjoy at home!
