As I prepared to head to Nashville, TN for my first ever CMA Fest, I was most excited about shopping and finding new outfits for the four-day music festival. Because I am extra (no shame here), I had planned two outfits per day – a more casual daytime outfit and a dressier nighttime outfit. I was operating under the assumption that the days would be hot and I would be sweating a lot throughout the day. I also knew that there was a high likelihood that I’d be sitting on the ground and didn’t want to wear skirts or dresses. For the evening concerts, I knew that I had a seat at the Nissan Stadium and that the nights would be a bit cooler, so I could dress up a little more.

What I didn’t plan for was the rain that we had throughout the weekend, which threw a wrench in my plan just a bit. While they were calling for 100% chance of rain all four days, we had a couple of bad periods, but then lucked out with relatively nice weather for ~65% of the trip. I had at least come prepared with a rain jacket and a 20 pack of clear rain ponchos to try to stay dry.

Day 1

We arrived in Nashville and kicked off the morning with decent weather. In the mid-afternoon, we experienced some rain showers, but tolerable. Thursday evening was the WORST night of the entire trip. It poured and poured all night and we were all soaking wet and cold, even though we were covered with rain ponchos and jackets.

Day 2

Due to the weather we encountered the previous day, I altered my plan a bit and decided on one outfit for the whole day. It ended up only raining a bit during the day and late afternoon and not at all at night. Figures!

Day 3

We ended up with very little rain on Saturday and instead had a very very hot day in the sun. We also had a beautiful dry evening at Nissan Stadium.

Day 4

Sunday ended up being another scorching hot day with the most beautiful evening! There were some isolated storms sprinkled throughout the day, but I’ll take that over rain all day!
