Binge-worthy Shows Lineup – 4/19/2020

It is now day 7485 indoors under quarantine….at least it feels like it. It’s been a while now and I have run through all of the expected shows to binge like Tiger King and Love is Blind. Finally this week, I decided to start some new shows on some new platforms that haven’t been made into one million and one memes and I am so happy that I did. Introducing this week’s binge-worthy lineup:

The Morning Show

“This unapologetically candid drama looks at the modern workplace through the lens of the people who help America wake up. Pull back the curtain on early morning TV.”

I’ve been dying to watch this and decided to take the plunge and sign up for Apple TV+ this weekend (you get your first week for free!). 10 episodes, 55-65 minutes each and I crushed it on Saturday. I love Reese, I love Jennifer. The storyline was so relevant and just incredible. They are incredible. Season 2, please come soon.

Truth be Told

“Descend into the world of true-crime podcasts. New evidence compels podcaster Poppy Parnell (Octavia Spencer) to reopen the murder case that made her a media sensation. Aaron Paul stars as the man that she may have wrongfully put behind bars.”

Since I signed up for Apple TV+, I figured I would give another show a shot. 8 episodes, 40-50 minutes each, so I crushed this one on Sunday. I have no life. If you love true crime shows and podcasts, this one is for you! Incredible cast and the best part is that the season wraps the story up, so no cliffhanger for the next season.

Modern Love

“These are unique stories about the joys and tribulations of love, each inspired by a real-life personal essay from the New York Times beloved column “Modern Love.””

I put this show on after work this week when I needed something a little lighter. It comes on Amazon Prime Video and includes 8 episodes, 30-40 minutes, based off of short essays printed in the New York Times “Modern Love” column. Each episode tells a different story, which I love! Also, you’ll see a lot of familiar faces in the cast.

Fleabag

“Fleabag is the hilarious and poignant window into the mind of a dry-witted, sexual, angry, grief-riddled woman, as she hurls herself at modern living in London.”

Also on Amazon Prime Video, I turned this on after I remember hearing that it won a buttload of awards recently! There are two seasons, each 6 20-30 minute episodes, so it is very easy to breeze through. The comedy is raunchy but the show is raw. You’ll laugh and you might cry, but you won’t regret it.

I’m always looking for new shows, so what are your recommendations? Next up on my list is Ozark and I’m in the middle of re-watching Desperate Housewives!
